Who is it for?

· Those are already competent in basic retail skills

· Those wanting to build a career in Retail

What is it about?

· The National Occupational Standards for retail, developed by Skillsmart Retail, are the focus of both the training and the accreditation of this NVQ.

· Skills and competencies will be assessed and accredited against these Standards

· Therefore a candidates personal development will be guided by these Standards.

· The natural starting point for progression to one of the specialist pathways at NVQ Level 3 - Sales Professional, Visual Merchandising and Management.

It is a modular qualification made up of six units: one mandatory and five optional (the most relevant optional units can be selected according to a candidate’s individual role).  The diverse range of available units reflects the diverse range of occupational functions within the retail sector.
